For the first time in the club’s history, Gambozinos will be represented by two teams at the European Beach Ultimate Club Championships (EBUCC),taking place from October 16 to 18, 2026, in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.

It will be a special edition for the Ultimate Frisbee club from Aveiro, with one team competing in the Open division and, for the very first time, another in the Women’s division.

Gambozinos Open: experience and ambition

For the Open team, the European stage is nothing new. With several international competitions already behind them, the club will arrive in Figueira da Foz with experience and the ambition to take their game to another level.

Rather than focusing on a specific final ranking, the goal is to play at the highest possible level, compete with personality and show the team’s identity on the field against some of Europe’s best clubs.

It will also be an opportunity to put the work done throughout the season to the test and continue growing as a team.

Gambozinas: a very special first

In the Women’s division, this year’s EBUCC will have an even more special meaning.

For the first time, Gambozinos will enter a women’s team in an international competition of this scale.Gambozinas will also be the only Portuguese team competing in the Women’s division.

It is a major challenge for a young team that is still developing, strengthened for this adventure by several national and international players who have accepted the invitation to join the project.

The goal goes far beyond the final standings. This participation represents a real opportunity. Over three days, Gambozinas will have the chance to compete against some of the best women’s teams in Europe, gain experience, grow as a team, and contribute to the development of women’s Ultimate in Portugal.

Two teams, two different challenges, but the same colours and the same determination to represent Aveiro and Portuguese Ultimate at their best.

This year, EBUCC will definitely have a special meaning for Gambozinos, and for Portuguese Ultimate as a whole.
